WHO?
Divi is a product of Element Themes. The first version of Divi was released on Dec 11 – 2013 to a alot of hype. Divi hit the ground running and became one of the most popular products ever created for WordPress. In 2025 Elegant Themes is set to launch a completely re-imagined version of DIVI and it has never been more popular than it is right now.
WHAT?
Divi 5 is the latest release on the horizon. The newest version of Divi is being completely rebuilt using the REACT Javascript Framework. This will make Divi much faster, more stable and less prone to crashing. While Divi has always been extremely popular the versions that came before 5 have been considered a little bloated and slow depending on the complexity of the project. In using the Divi 5 Alpha release myself I can tell you that it is a huge improvement over previous versions. If you have been considering DIVI you couldn’t choose a better time than now.
WHERE?

WHEN?
Ah the WHEN? I was afraid to get to this one. This seems to be the big question at the moment. The folks at Elegant Themes have been putting in overtime to get this done but many thought it would be done by now. If I know Nick Roach the founder of Elegant the way I think I do it will be done ONLY when he is fully satisfied. Nick is a perfectionist that would never put out a mediocre product. I imagine that releasing an Alpha version that is not at 100% is hard enough on him.
WHY?
The WHY? is an easy one to answer. With the world moving as quickly as it does now it was definitely time. This assures that Divi will move at the quick pace of WordPress. The Divi 5 platform is completely in line with WordPress in version 5. It makes it easier for fellow developers to expand the Divi platform as well.
